How do I set up a Counter-Strike 2 dedicated server?

With indifferent broccoli

Running your Counter-Strike 2 community server is simple.

  1. Enter your email and password
  2. Select your plan size and region
  3. Press the 'Launch 2-Day Free Trial' button
  4. Enjoy your new server

Without indifferent broccoli

Running a Counter-Strike 2 dedicated server is... complicated.

System Requirements

To run a Counter-Strike 2 dedicated server, you'll want a system with at least 8GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. The operating system should be Linux (Ubuntu 16.04+) or Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit).

Installation

You can install the server from your Steam library or use SteamCMD.

SteamCMD Command:

steamcmd.exe +login [SteamUsername] [SteamPassword] +force_install_dir C:\Path\To\CS2\Server +app_update 730 +quit

You'll need to forward UDP and TCP Port 27015 and 27106

Starting the server

You can run the server by using command line in the server's directory.

Windows:

.cs2.exe -dedicated +map de_dust2

Linux:

./cs2 -dedicated +map de_dust2
